He is an Ethiopian craftsman who specializes in stools,he is a very unique carpenter.
So most human beings get two arms and two legs to do what we have to do.
Others are not so lucky but still manage to to eke out a living.
His job is juts amazing cause he need to use power with his legs, he need to use a hammer, and many risky things to do his work, but he manages to do it in a splendid way.
Creating all of these stools without the use of his hands!
Sentayehu Teshale has been constructing stools out of wood for over 20 years now.
Amazing seeing the power of will and determination of this dude.
Sometimes you can see Sentayehu working in public around Addis Ababa
He was told he would have to become a beggar to live, but he rejected that idea and decided he could overcome his physical challenges.
He started off as a knife-sharpener and moved on to repair work. His main stock and trade now, and for the past 20 years, is constructing wooden stools.
Teshale uses his feet in the most natural way, as though they were his hands.
He spends a lot of time thinking about his creations and he’s proud of the physical strength his work demands.
Not only does he rely on common tools like chisels and saws, but he uses power tools too!
Part visionary, part carpenter, it’s hard to imagine Teshale living a more positive, productive life.
He’s an inspiration for all of us and especially for those of us working in the trades.
