Just a few years ago Aliki Chrysochou lost her coordination and her ability to speak and move when she was diagnosed with neurological disease focal encephalitis.
The condition left her unable to care for herself and her mum had to feed, bathe and look after her.
But brave Aliki fought back through music and showed how far she’s come as she stunned judges at the Britain’s Got Talent auditions.
The 29 year old soprano gave a heartfelt performance of Evanescence’s anthem Bring Me To Life.
Hitting all the high notes she had the audience in the palm of her hands as she sang the poignant words Wake Me Up Inside, Save Me.
Aliki, who is originally from Cyrus, was praised by the judges for her talent and courage, with Simon, David, Alesha and Amanda all giving her a standing ovation.
A tearful Amanda Holden said: “Oh my goodness me.
I can’t imagine what your mum must be thinking, because that’s practically an anthem for her.
The words bring me back to life, hear my voice. It was amazing! So congratulations.”
A gushing David Walliams said: “When you came on I thought I hope your voice is as beautiful as how you look, and it was. It was incredible.”
While Simon Cowell was blown away with Aliki’s attitude and said: “Well you just have a natural talent Aliki you know.
That lyric was so poignant and there’s something about your energy Aliki that is just incredible.”
